Unlike the well-established Santander Cycles, dockless bikes from companies like Dott, Lime and Tier, allow the user to end their journey anywhere, rather than in a designated space.
They’re a clean, innovative way to get around our neighbourhoods, but we all need to work together to ensure users park them responsibly.
Bikes left blocking the pavement cause difficulties for every pedestrian, but most notably on mobility and wheelchair users, those pushing buggies, and members of our community who are blind or partially sighted.
Nickie Aiken, Member of Parliament for the Cities of London and Westminster, has been inundated with your photos for my dossier of good and bad parking examples. She has met with Dott, Lime, and Tier and urged them to redouble their efforts to educate users to make responsible parking choices.
How can you make companies aware of irresponsible parking?
Dott - If you’ve found a broken, misplaced, or improperly parked Dott bike, please report it – they’ll send someone to pick it up.
Lime - If you spot a Lime bike parked irresponsibly, please let them know so they can take action. Email [email protected] with a photo of the bike and the location you found it in.
Tier - Please let Tier know if you spot one of their bikes parked improperly. Email [email protected]
