Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Understandably, lots of people have been getting in touch about Coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past few days.

As events unfold it is important that we all continue to follow official public health guidelines and remain calm. You can find the government’s latest official guidance relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19) here. This advice is provided by the Department for Health and Social Care.

The NHS has published separate advice. You can find this here.

The NHS has also produced an informative video on handwashing which you can view above. At this point, practicing good personal hygiene is one of the most effective measures we can all take to combat Coronavirus.

Some people have specifically got in touch about stockpiling. The UK’s major supermarkets published a joint letter encouraging people to be considerate in the way that they shop. You can read the text of their letter here. I would urge everyone to follow their advice. Retailers also have a moral responsibility to consumers not to hike up prices at this time.

Locally, we are liaising with the two local authorities, Westminster City Council and Corporation of London, on their responses to the virus, how they are supporting the most vulnerable and advising on how people can volunteer to help.

We will continue to provide updates on this issue via the website and social media. Responses to individual emails on this matter may go unanswered or be directed to statements on this website.

Together, we can support each other and come through this difficult time.
