Never Such Innocence (NSI) is a Two Cities-based charity giving children and young people a voice on conflict through poetry, art, speech, and songwriting.

Nickie Aiken, Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, visited them last year and found out about their inspirational work. She was honoured to host them in Parliament and bring children from across the country, including local children from the Two Cities, to showcase their work.

As Nickie could not be there in person owing to her appointment to the UK Delegation of the Council of Europe, she was delighted to be represented by Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Alicia Kearns MP. Alicia was in awe of all the those who stood up and made their voices heard.

Those who presented their creative pieces include the winners of NSI’s ‘Month of the Military Child’ and ‘Life in Conflict’ competitions, as well as students from Soho Parish Primary School and St Peter’s Eaton Square Primary School.

Nickie is pleased that the children had their voices heard by so many, including fellow MPs, Felicity Buchan, Robert Courts, David Johnston, Danny Kruger, and Bob Seely as well as Senior Education Officer at the Ministry of Defence, Andrew Malcolm, Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, and the Islamic Advisor to British Forces, Imam Asim Hafiz.
