This morning, Cities of London & Westminster MP Nickie Aiken joined MPs from all parties in a special event organised by Samaritans to discuss the charity’s work with their volunteers.
The event was organised to coincide with Blue Monday, the third Monday in January, which is considered to be the most depressing day of the year.
This year, Samaritans are encouraging people to safely come together on ‘Brew Monday’ and talk about what’s on their mind.
Encouraging people to seek help if they need it Nickie said,
I just want to say to anybody who is feeling sad and down, isolated, that you are not alone, that many people are feeling very down at the moment because of the pandemic.
And if you are one of those people who are feeling not yourself, not motivated, really depressed then do call the Samaritans and do reach out for help, it is there for you.
