Cities of London & Westminster MP spoke out during the Holocaust Memorial Bill to save Victoria Tower Gardens.

The Holocaust Memorial Bill is hugely significant as it rightly allows the way for a Holocaust memorial in London. As it stands, the memorial and learning centre will be built at Victoria Tower Gardens.

For a number of years, Nickie has been working with the Save Victoria Tower Gardens campaign. Nickie believes it is so important we have a Holocaust memorial, but it must be in the right location. Victoria Tower Gardens is a much-loved and much-used park, and we do not want to lose it.

During the Bill, Nickie put forward several amendments to the Bill, as have other MPs. They have particular concerns about the ongoing costs, security and the whole consultation process. The Bill did progress, but Nickie made the case, with colleagues, for the Government to look at a different location.
