Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, continued her campaign with neighbouring MP, Greg Hands, Member of Parliament for Chelsea & Fulham, to save bus route 211.

The 211 connects Westminster to five hospitals, but the Mayor of London is pressing ahead with his plan to cut this critical route from Westminster.

Commenting on the importance of this route, Nickie said,

"I'm here with Greg Hands, my constituency neighbour in Chelsea, and we're campaigning to save the 211 hospital bus. Many of you will know that the 211 services St Thomas', The Royal Brompton, The Royal Marsden, Chelsea & Westminster, and Charing Cross hospitals. I know people in Westminster are particularly concerned about Mayor Khan's plans to cut the route so it starts in Battersea Power Station, not St Thomas'.

"And that means that thousands of people will not be able to get directly to those hospitals in Chelsea and beyond from Westminster. Thousands of you agree and have signed our petition."

Greg Hands MP added,

"I've also met with Royal Brompton, Marsden, and Chelsea & Westminster hospitals individually recently. The hospitals are really concerned about it. Brompton has just merged with St Thomas', they'll have a lot of staff going between the two of them. Obviously, you've got heart and lung patients, cancer patients, and people who don't necessarily have good mobility. Brompton and Marsden serve the whole South East region.

"So a lot of people coming to Waterloo, coming to Victoria, wanting to get on the bus to go to those hospitals. It's a huge issue for people. We need people to sign our petitions to save the 211 bus."
