Raindance is an independent film school and film festival which is proud to call the Two Cities home to its global base.

Raindance has a 30-year history of supporting and being the voice of UK independent film.

Two Cities MP, Nickie Aiken, was delighted to meet CEO Zuif Choudhry at his film studio, House of Raindance, in Craven Street where she heard more about how their 120 students are developing vital skills for a future in the film industry.

With an emphasis on storytelling, their short films cover a range of topics and issues such as social justice and people power. They also empower students to make great films on a micro-budget and the studio will be taking a number of their students’ projects to the Cannes Film Festival later this month.

On the visit, Nickie also heard from Zuif about the challenges they face as a small provider and she has taken their concerns to the Minister for Higher Education, Robert Halfon MP and the Office for Students.

Whether you want a career change, or to make your first step in the film industry, find out more about the courses available at Raindance here.
