So Nickie welcomes last week's announcement of a change in the law to ban zombie-style machetes.
This action goes further to get these dangerous weapons off our streets for good and will make it illegal to possess, sell, manufacture or transport these potentially deadly weapons. The Government is also increasing the maximum sentence for selling knives to those under 18 and will continue to invest in youth services that have prevented thousands of violent injuries.
Knife crime ruins lives. The Labour Mayor of London Sadiq Khan leads policing in the capital, but under his watch knife crime has risen 40%. This Government is taking action to ensure our streets are safer.
