Nickie at Imperial College London

As we marked Cancer Awareness Week, Two Cities MP, Nickie Aiken, visited Imperial College London to meet the incredible team behind the RREACT start-up project to learn how they're improving early detection of cancerous tumours.

Winner of the "University" category in the Santander X UK Awards 2023, RREACT is using contrast-enhanced super-resolution ultrasound imaging technology to assess the response of a tumour. It's a pioneering initiative that uses technology far less invasive than MRIs or CT scans and will make a real difference in people's lives.

Whilst there, Nickie met the incredible people behind the start-up, Kevin Bardwell, Marcelo, Jipeng Yan as well as Professor Mengxing Tang. Professor Mengxing Tang has worked at ICL for over 20 years and is a real expert in his field and RREACT’s mission. Nickie looks forward to continuing to hear about this exciting project in the future.
