Nickie's new proposed law to improve IVF support

Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, has tabled legislation via a Private Members' Bill to give those going through IVF treatment the right to paid leave for medical appointments.

Unlike employment legislation for pregnancy, maternity and paternity antenatal care, employers are not required to give time off work for IVF treatment.

Nickie's Bill will have its Second Reading later in November 2022 and over the coming months, she will be lobbying Ministers and colleagues to make the case for why this legislation is crucial.

Following the legislations introduction to the House of Commons, Nickie commented,

I do not believe that women, nor their partners, should have to choose between IVF treatment and a career. Sadly too many currently feel they have to.

My Bill seeks to change that and aims to improve the employment rights that people undergoing IVF treatment currently have and put IVF treatment into the same category as antenatal appointments.

If you back Nickie's legislation, let her know and show your support below.
